Bhubaneswar: Odisha Cabinet approves 22 proposals in its meeting chaired by CM Naveen Patnaik.

Cabinet approves ordinance on Contract Farming in Agriculture & approves changes in State Tourism Policy 2016. IDCO to give land to hotels & restaurants. Presently, IDCO & collectors are both providing land.

Land for various tourism projects, including hotels and restaurants will be given by  IDCO. Decision taken at state  Cabinet meeting held today, informs Odisha Chief Secretary Asit Tripathy after Cabinet meet.

UG, Agricultural courses and allied courses will be designated as professional courses informed Odisha Chief Secretary Asit Tripathy .

Contract farming has been legalized and farmers’ interest will be given safeguard.  Odisha Agricultural Produce Markets Act, 1956 has been replaced. Farmers can directly contact buyers and sell their produces Chief Secretary Asit Tripathy .

VAT increased on petrol and diesel on May 17 ratified by Odisha Cabinet today.  Society registration has to be done every 5 years. They can do it online. This is informed by the Chief Secy Asit Tripathy after Cabinet meeting.

Aska Co-operative Sugar Industries Ltd has been given a guarantee of Rs 15 crore to avail cash credit loan. Aska Co-op Central Bank has already drawn the amount. Cabinet today gave post facto nod.
