Odisha BJP Chief demanded ouster of Agriculture Minister Damodar Rout from his post

Bhubaneswar: Odisha BJP Chief Basant Panda demanded ouster of Agriculture Minister Damodar Rout from his post. Panda demanded that Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik oust Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment Minister Damodar Rout from his post in view of his statement that the family of Brunda Sahu would not get any Government assistance.

“Minister Rout has given a very insensitive statement denying Government assistance to Brunda’s family even though he committed suicide after giving notice to the district Collector regarding the pest attack and burning his crop, BJP State president Basant Panda alleged at a Press meet here.

Alleging that the State Government is disrespecting peasants by not accepting farmers’ suicide due to crop loss and loan burden, Panda demanded a judicial inquiry into all cases of these suicides.
