Odisha BJD to stage demonstration in front of all petrol pumps on April 7 over Oil Price Hike

Bhubaneswar: Biju Yuva & Chhatra Janta Dal to stage state-wide peaceful demonstration in front of all petrol pumps on April 7 from 9 am till 12 noon to make people aware on Oil Price Hike.

The BYJD and BCJD activists would sensitise the people about the Centre’s “anti-people” decision and also distribute leaflets as to how the Central Government is looting the common consumers, said BJD general secretary (youth affairs) Sanjay Dasburma at a Press conference here on Tuesday.

Dasburma said the fuel price hike has affected the common consumers as well as all sectors of the economy.

BJD State secretary Bijay Nayak said that due to the frequent hikes in the prices of petrol and diesel the prices of daily- used items and essential commodities are skyrocketing.

The Central Government is sacrificing the interest of common people, due to which their anger is increasing. The Central Government, in order to hide its inefficiency, is trying to dish out lame excuses over the increasing fuel prices. The Centre is not making its stand clear on the issue, said Nayak.

The BJD would strongly protest against the fuel price hike and continue its agitation till the Central Government doesn’t fix a reasonable price for fuels, said the BJD leaders.

Among others, party spokesperson Sasmit Patra, BYJD president Amaresh Patri and BCJD president Ranapratap Patra were present.
