Cuttack: Annual High School Certificate (HSC) examinations beginning at 2818 centres across Odisha on Friday. Board officials further informed that all preparations for the State-wide examinations to begin from Friday were over. Over six lakh students will write the examinations this year .
Around 5,90,330 students including 5,67,254 Regular students will appear in the annual matric examinations in 2,818 centres across the state which will conclude on March 8.
Special arrangements have been made to ensure that the fortnight-long examinations are held smoothly. “A three-tier squad at zonal, circle and school levels is in place to check malpractices during the examinations,” said BSE President Dr Jahan Ara Begum. She said the BSE has also formed special squads to keep a strong vigil on the examinees. Besides, the district Collectors and SPs have also been urged to extend their help for disturbance-free conduct of the examinations, she added.
In order to monitor the examination centres, the Board of Secondary Education (BSE) had conducted a training camp for the flying squad teams.
Meanwhile the district administration has made elaborate security arrangements for the HSC examinations in the Maoist-infested areas in Bonai sub-division.
Security arrangements have also been made in five nodal centres and 28 examinations centres, sources said.
