Odisha: 19 Lok Sangathan urges govt to initiate actions to ensure education and health for all

Bhubaneswar: On the eve of International Human Rights Day, representatives of 19 Lok Sangathan from 17 tribal districts under the aegis of Odisha Shramajeebee Manch and Mahila Shramajeebi Manch, Odisha staged a mass protest at lower PMG to highlight their issues on education and health and demanded immediate action from the state government to ensure education rights of the children as well as healthcare services for all.
More than 500 people representing Sangathan leaders, Community members, farmers joined the mass protest and pluralized the need of effective implementation of RTE Act and healthcare access for all.
Later, they submitted a memorandum to the Hon’ble Governor, Chief Minister’s office, Odisha Human Rights Commission and State Commission for Women, Odisha, demanding immediate action on improving the condition of education and health of the state.
State Convener of Odisha Shramajeebee Manch Mr Anjan Pradhan, President of Mahila Shramajeebee Manch, Odisha Ms. Shanti Bhoi, Child Rights Activist Dr Ramakant Rai and leaders of the two Lok Sangathans were present.
