Kandhamal: Due to unmotorable road to the village an ambulance employees had walked for 5KM to rescue a Cardiac with Paralysis patient. The incident took place in Miniadupi Village of Phiringia panchayat under Phiringia block of Kandhamal district. The patient named, Laxman Kanhar (45) had suffered with both cardiac problem and paralysis. As his health deteriorates suddenly, his family members had called 108 ambulance for help.
A 108 ambulance from Phiringia block with crew members, EMT, Binayak Panda & Pilot, Anil Kumar Nayak and Helper- Papun Nayak also reached for rescue. But the ambulance couldn’t reach near the patient’s location due to unmotorable road and stopped before 5km from patient’s home. It was non-network area so the crew were unable to contact with the patient’s relative. With no options in hand, the EMT & Pilot had decided to walk 5 KMs to patient’s home wading through hill and jungle. Then they brought the Patient near the ambulance on stretcher with the help of their relatives. Subsequently, the ambulance admitted the patient at Phiringia CHC.
