Bhubaneswar: The Aditya Birla Group flagship Company Hindalco has observed the National Nutrition week at Aditya Aluminium Lapanga in Sambalpur district recently. Going in line with the ” Fit India and Kuposhan Mukt Bharat” Abhijaan of Union Govt every year September month is being celebrated as Nutrition Month. To mark this occasion, Aditya Aluminium under its Health CSR initiative conducted awareness camp on Nutrition for rural women.
The event was conducted in Rajiv Gandhi Seva Kendra Lapanga where 60 women from 4 villages participated. In the awareness programme, Body Mass Index test was conducted for all women and 7 women won the quiz competition. Speaking on the occasion, the resource person Ms. Chandrakanti Dash emphasised on balanced nutrition for women during the life cycle. Other guests shared the information on value of nutrition and balanced diet for women as they bear the major responsibility of raising their children. They also motivated the womenfolk to create kitchen garden to get fresh and pesticides free vegetables. Women were involved in discussion on various food containing carbohydrates, protein, fat, iron and minerals. They were encouraged to breast feed toddlers for their mental and physical growth.

Bharati Meher, Bamsimal AWW; Tarabati Biswal Landupalli, ASHA; Gitanjali Padhan, AWW, Khadiapalli, Lalita Mal, Sardhapally, AWW. Pravasini Pradhan, Lapanga, ASHA Anganwadi didi from 4 villages. From Aditya Aluminium, Ms. Sweta Upadhayay, Ms. Tanvi Agarwal, Ms. Sneha Nayak, Mr. Manoranjan Behera attended the event.
