NTPC Talcher Kaniha inks MOU with MCL-Bhubaneswari Mines for coal security

Bhubaneswar: With a strategic focus on ensuring coal security, NTPC Talcher Kaniha, the second largest power station of NTPC has signed a MoU with MCL to lift coal from Bhubaneswari OCP through Road Cum Railway (RCR) mode on 18.01.2020 in the presence of Shri Sudip Nag ,Chief General Manager ,NTPC Talcher Kaniha ,Shri K K Das ,GM(FM) & MCL officials.

MCL has committed to supply Bhubaneswari OCP coal to NTPC Talcher Kaniha which will enhance the performance of the Power Station with quality of coal reserves .The addition of Bhubaneswari coal mines will further bring efficiency into the coal plant by providing fuel security for NTPC Kaniha and other coal stations of NTPC Limited. With the execution of the agreement, NTPC Kaniha increased its one more independent primary fuel source in addition to NTPC owned Dulanga coal mine. It will enhance the power plant performance and reduce generation of ash with availability of better coal.

The first rake of coal with 3498 MT of Bhubaneswari coal from Lingaraj-3 siding was loaded and dispatched to Talcher Kaniha which was received on January 19, 2020. Shri N.S. Rao, GM (O&M), Shri K.K Das, GM (FM) and other officials of the Power Station were present on the occasion.
