Bhubaneswar: Govt of Odisha signs MoU with J-PAL to inform policy with rigorous evidence as part of poverty reduction initiative.
The MoU was signed by Odisha Development Commissioner Suresh Mohapatra and J-PAL Executive Director Shobhini Mukerji, in a ceremony officiated by Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
J-PAL will provide technical assistance for the scale-up of evidence-backed programmes to improve development outcomes across the state.
Under the 5T initiative, Odisha Govt to partner with J-PAL, co-founded by Nobel laureates Abhijit Banerjee and Esther Duflo.
CM Naveen Patnaik said “I am delighted that an MoU has been made between the state govt of Odisha and J-PAL with a focus on policy dialogue encompassing malnutrition, distress migration, women empowerment, agricultural productivity & health sector issues.”
