Rourkela: National Institute of Technology (NIT), Rourkela has been placed 121 in the QS BRICS overall University Ranking 2019. Last year NIT, Rourkela had secured the 126th position in the QS BRICS ranking. In the region-wise ranking category, NITR has been ranked 27 among all the Indian universities for the year 2019.
BRICS ranking is compiled using eight different indicators, including the ratio of faculty to students, the proportion of academic staff with a PhD and Even the institution’s reputation among academics and employers. It was launched in 2013. It is an annual ranking of the top universities in the five BRICS countries- Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa. NITR has been placed in the 600-800 group in ‘Times Higher Education World University Ranking’. Earlier this year NIT had also secured the 126th position in ‘Asia University Rankings 2018 ‘.
