National Press Day Celebrated in Silk City

Berhampur: National Press Day has celebrated in Silk City by Samparka Mass Media, a city based media house. The day is especially marked with the competitions and social recognitions to the people engaged in different media activities. Prof. J.S. Giri Rao, the retired academician of Berhampur University joined as Chief Speaker whereas Santanu Majhai, Ganjam Bibhag Pracharak of RSS unit as Chief Guest and Hrusikesh Panigrahy is the Guest of Honour.
Sanat Panda, the director of Samparka Mass media has presented key note of the day whereas Prof. Rao has stressed on the challenges of Journalists in 21st century. The chief Guest Majhi has focused his view on the loving relationship of human being and society that widens the way to be a popular and good journalist. The people works under pressure to file their story for the social betterment reason make everyone PRESS, Hrusikesh Panigrahy explained.
The results of various competitions held for the day has declared and added some awards for the people working for betterment of Press. In the essay competition students of Berhampur University mark the row standing Sohini Biswas (MJMC) first, Swati Samantroy (Chem) second and jointly third are Rajesh Ray (Bot) and Siddharth Sankar Sahu of OSOU. In debate competition Susmita Panda of KKU stood first keeping Rajesh Ray second and Rajkishore Sadangi of OSOU as third. In caption writing Sohini Biswas of BU and Tanusri Nahakk of SMIT (MJMC) chased the competition and in News Anchoring Rajesh Ray stood first whereas Kabita Sabat (SMIT-MJMC) second and Asish Kumar Das (KKJC) third.
In the declaration awards Sudip Sahu, a veteran reporter is nominated for best news coordination in “Sudip Breaking” whereas G. Nagaraju of Nitidin Odia daily as Best Reporter, Dr. Jyoti Prasad Patnaik as Citizen journalist and Pradeep Hotta as best reader and critic of newspapers.
Narayan Mahankuda, the editor of Paryatan Bharat put vote of thanks and Bakul Padhy, Director of Mind Power Training Institute (MPTI) has took pain for a good arrangement and coordination.
