National Nutrition Week celebrated by Adani Foundation

Dhamra: National Nutrition Week celebrated by Adani Foundation from 1st September to the 7th September to aware villagers about important tips on Enhancement of nutritional practice to ensure proper care of their health and well-being. As the part of the planned activities is being happening in this *MAAH*, today a nutritional disclosure meeting day was organised at Rajiv Gandhi Seva Kendra, Karanjmaal under the Chairmanship of The Child Development Project Officer, Chandbali Mrs. Pratima Khandual where The Sarpanch Karanjmaal Mr. Babuli Sethi, ANM Karanjamaal, 14 Anganwadi Workers of the GP present among over 120 women from Karanpali GP. The interaction focused on sensitising the women on healthy eating, addressing twin issues of malnutrition and under nutrition and obesity in some sections and also intensifying existing nationwide campaign for ‘malnutrition-free India’.

Working on balance nutrition supplementation to reduce severe acute malnutrition and Moderate acute malnutrition has been a core intervention of Adani Foundation. This intervention of Adani Foundation is being implemented through its project “SuPoshan” in 135 Anganwadi Centers of the Adani Dhamra Port periphery through 45 change makers called “SANGINI”.

Considering the declaration of PM Narendra Modi to observe September 2019 as the “RASTRIYA POSHAN MAAH – (NATIONAL NUTRITION MAAH)”, Adani Foundation through project SuPoshan has started observing the Nutrition week from 1st September. The planned activities will include village level activities like quiz, exhibition, debates, baby show and exposure visit of Sanginies to Nutritional Rehabilitation Centre, interaction with government official from Dept. of Women and Child Development, Government of Odisha.
