Bhubaneswar: Cyclone Fani, had brought massive disaster in many districts of Odisha. While it had resulted in major damage of properties, large number of people has also been affected by the Cyclone. In such a situation, many industrial houses and institutions have come forward to provide relief and restoration support. In this context, Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) has formed a Cyclone Steering Committee to manage relief and assistance works.
The Secretary General of CII, through a letter, has asked the CMD of Navratna CPSE NALCO Dr. Tapan Kumar Chand to head this Committee. Along with Dr. Chand, Admiral A.K. Verma of CII, Eastern Region shall also be a member in this Committee. As the head of CII’s Cyclone Steering Committee and the President of Aluminium Association of India, Dr. Chand has requested industrial houses and institutions to come forward to support the relief and restoration work. A Steering Committee Meeting has been called in Nalco Bhawan on 11th May 2019, afternoon. Industry leaders have been requested to participate in the meeting.
It may be mentioned that, under the guidance of Dr. Chand, NALCO has started massive relief and restoration work.
