Bhubaneswar: Two days National Board meeting of NACG-EVAC, India (National Action and Coordination Group for Ending Violence against Children), the Country level recognised Civil society platform of South Asia Initiative to End Violence Against Children (SAIEVAC) held at Panthanivas, Bhubaneswar concluded with a clarion call for collective action by Governments ,Civil Society Groups & all other stake holders to end violence against children . SAIEVAC is the inter Governmental apex body of SAARC for ensuring Child protection in South Asia. The meeting was participated by National Board members from different parts of the Country who are committed to set up their efforts to promote safe and happy childhood.
NACG –EVAC, India National Board meeting concluded with the election of new office bearers . Mr Ranjan Kumar Mohanty ,an eminent child Rights activist, Chairman of Odisha Alliance for Child Rights & Secretary of PECUC, Odisha a leading child right organisation working for children since last 28 years , was unanimously elected as the Chairperson of NACG-EVAC ,India. D. Roshan Kumar Chief functionary of SEEDS, Guntur, Andhrapradesh and Sanjay Gupta, Chief functionary, CHETNA, New Delhi were elected as Vice-Chairpersons. Mr Sanjay Mishra ,Head of BKS &the Former Member of Jharkhand State Commission for Child Rights continued to be the Treasurer of NACG India. Mr.Prakash Rath of OLS from Odisha is also in the eleven members Executive Committee.
Ranjan Kumar Mohanty, Chairperson NACG India expressed his commitment to promote a protective environment for Children as well as strengthening the State chapters of NACG-EVAC across the Country. NACG-EVAC, India National board also reiterated its standing decision to work in very close coordination with Government systems at all levels along with NCPCR and SCPCRs to protect and promote Child Rights across the Country.
Dr. Rinchen Chophel ,Director General of SAIEVAC attended this two days National Board Meeting as Observer.
Amongst others Dr Chiranjeev Kakoty, out going Chairperson and Mikhael Pradhan ,Out going Vice Chairperson spoke on the occasion .
