Mining revenue of Odisha declined from Rs 5,674.52 crore in 2012-13 to Rs 5,576.40 crore in 2017-18

Bhubaneswar: The State’s mining revenue has declined from Rs 5,674.52 crore in 2012-13 to Rs 5,576.40 crore in 2017-18.

This was revealed from the information submitted in the State Assembly by Steel and Mines Minister Prafulla Kumar Mallick in response to a question of MLA Dilip Ray on Friday.

The Minister said the Government has targeted to collect Rs 7,100 crore as mining revenue in 2018-19.

According to the data, while mining of revenue of Rs 5,674.52 crore collected in 2012-13, Rs 5,507.4 crore collected in 2013-14 and Rs 5,330.43 crore in 2014-15. However, the amount increased to Rs 5,624.4 crore in 2015-16 and declined further to Rs 4,541.28 crore in 2016-17.

The Minister informed that steps are being taken to collect outstanding amounts from different mining leaseholders.
