Sambalpur: A mild earthquake was felt here on Wednesday at about 5.45 pm that panicked many residents, who came out of their houses. But there were other people who only knew about the tremor from neighbours as they couldn’t feel it.
Notably, Sambalpur, including the Hirakud Dam, comes under the seismic zone. In fact, the mild earthquake was felt in several other parts of western Odisha, Met sources in Bhubaneswar said. Besides Sambalpur, the tremor was experienced in Deogarh and Jharsuguda districts and a few other places in the region.
