Sambalpur: Mahanadi Coalfields Limited was awarded the 1st Best Enterprise Award under Miniratna category in the 28th National Meet of Women in Public Sector(WIPS) held in Guwahati recently. WIPS is an organization which works for the development of women employees working in CPSUs and it functions under the aegis of SCOPE(Standing Conference On Public Enterprises), New Delhi. The award was given by Shri Sarbananda Sonowal, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Assam and it was received on behalf of MCL by Mrs. Komala V.Jawaid, Chief Manager(P), MCL/Coordinator, WIPS, MCL/REB Member(ER) in the presence of Mrs.Kirti Tiwari, Chief Manager(Civil)/President, Apex, WIPS and 8 female employees of MCL. The National Meet was inaugurated by Dr.U.D.Choubey, Director General of SCOPE on 12th February, 2018.
Shri Sonowal appreciated the good work being done by female employees and applauded their contribution in the growth of the CPSUs in the country. He also praised the role of Ministry of Women and Child Development in their development. The female employees attending the seminar at Guwahati were motivated by the inspirational speech of hon’ble Chief Minister of Assam.
