MCL targets 4 Lakhs saplings to be planted in current year

 

Sambalpur: On the occasion of Van Mahostav 2018 , Sri J P Singh, Director(Technical / Operation) announces that MCL would be planting 4 Lakhs saplings in and around its operational areas during the year 2018-19.

During the function held at MCL Golf Course Sri J P Singh, Director(Technical/Operation), Sri L N Mishra, Director(Personnel) and Sri O P Singh, Director (Technical /Project & Planning) planted fruit saplings to kick start the Van Mahotsav which will continue through out the year.

Sri Anil Kumar Singh, General Manager(Environment) further informed that 23,595 saplings have been distributed at Talcher Coalfields and 1000 saplings in MCL HQ, 1200 saplings in IB Coalfields and 4100 saplings in Basundhara Area. MCL strives to make its coalfields into Greenfields and 2.71 Lakhs saplings were planted in the last fiscal year under the Urban Tree Plantation Scheme. MCL has interred into a 4 year Scheme with maintenance and fencing being done by the Forest Divisions of Jarsuguda, Angul , Chandaka Wild Life Bhubaneswar and Sambalpur through its CSR Fund to the tune of 7.59 Crore.
