Sambalpur: Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL), a subsidiary of Coal India Limited, celebrated its 27th Foundation Day beginning with the “Run of Excellence” early this morning.
Former Chairman & Managing Director of the company Mr A R Prasad flagged off the “Run for Excellence” in which Mr A K Jha, Chairman & Managing Director, Mr J P Singh, Director (Tech/Operations), Mr L N Mishra, Director (Personnel), Mr Munawar Khursheed, IRPF, Chief Vigilance Officer, Mr O P Singh, Director (Tech/P&P) participated with the officers, staff and their family members.
The “Run for Excellence” for women participants was flagged off by Dr Nisha Thakur, president of Jagriti Mahia Mandal, in the presence of former presidents Ms Suman Sharma and Ms Anju Sahay and vice-presidents Ms Madhoo Mishra, Ms Padmaja Singh and Ms Padmini Vasudevan.
Mr Jha, along with former CMDs and other dignitaries, cut the foundation day cake.
Prizes were also distributed among the winners.
A motivational talk on “Break the Comfort Zone” by Mr Rajesh Aggarwal was also organised at MCL headquarters which was attended by the representatives of workers unions, officers and staff of the company.
As a part of 27th foundation day celebrations, Foundation Day Cup Golf Tournament 2018 was also orgainsed at Mahanadi Golf Club yesterday. The tournament was formally inaugurated by Mr A K Jha, CMD, by hitting a ball. Around 45 golfers of MCL participated in the tournament.
