Bhubaneswar: The BMC monthly corporation meeting today has decided to take massive eviction drive in all the three zones under its jurisdiction. Common roads and drain which are encroached in various busy locations disturbing public life. A number of Corporators irequested the house to look into the matter seriously. Mayor Ananat Narayan Jena instructed all the Zonal Deputy Commissioners to prepare a list of such encroachments in their concerned zones. However eviction drive shall take soon after completion of the AAC 2017.
Besides the Corporator Mahamaya Swain gave a suggestion to the house to use the conservancy lane of Bapuji Nagar as Parking place to avoid congestion during peak hours. These lane will be cleaned and leveling work will be carried out for use of parking. BMC hopes to meet the shortage of parking place in the busiest market of the capital, the Bapuji Nagar.
The house today spent more of its time on cleaning and desiltation of drains. It had reviewed the work of various main drainage channels.
Mayor informed that BMC will make provision of construction of Ward Offices in all the wards the capital city for smooth process of civic administration. A request letter will be given to the GA Department for provision of land for such offices.
BMC Mayor requested all the Corporators to co-operate for the success of upcoming Asian Athletics Championship 2017.
