MAN holds two-day parent training workshop

 

Bhubaneswar: Manage Autism Now(MAN) is organising a two day parent training workshop on ” Understanding Sensory Issues and its effect on the behaviour of children affected by Autism Spectrum Disorder”. The workshop will be commenced from 29th July and will be concluded on 30th July 2017. The workshop will be at DAV school of Business Management(DSBM) , near Unit-8 DAV school.

Dr G Loganathan, Certified Sensory Integration Therapist from South California University will deal with autistic children.

Madan Mohan Mohanty, Chairman, DAV Public Schools, and trustee, MAN Trust said, ” Children with mild austistic disorder are overlooked by their parents at the early ages. This is because of the absence of knowledge of parents and teachers. This problem can be sorted out if proper guidance is followed.” With an aim to educate the parents MAN along with DAV public Schools has organised this two-day workshop under tutelage of international trainer-Dr G Loganathan. Dr Suravi Patra, Assistant professor Psychiatry, AIIMS, Bhubaneswar will also also impart training to the parents.

Swarnalata Mishra, the chairman of MAN Trust says, “Special attention should be given to children with autism for their overall development. We cannot overlook various hidden talents in them and efforts should be made to hone their skills and bring them to the mainstream”.

 

Parents having children with Special needs from Bhubaneswar & Cuttack and teachers from DAV, BJEM , St. Xavier ,LOYALA schools mainly who are managing autstic students will particiapte in the workshop.

MAN is primarily engaged in providing appropriate therapy to autistic children in order to bring them to the main stream society. This organization works with autistic kids and focuses on early intervention. It aims at improving communication, cognitive skills, social skills and also enhance the attention span of the kids.
