Madhya Pradesh to launch new policy to make the state a logistics hub

Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh will be made a logistics and warehousing hub. A well thought out policy will be formulated in this regard. Prof. Sachin Chaturvedi, Vice President, Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Good Governance and Policy Analysis, said this in a meeting organised to discuss the current scenarios of Logistics and Warehousing. He said that 52 departments would work together.

Prof Chaturvedi informed that an app will be made in collaboration with Asian Development Bank. Through this, hassle free movement of trucks and tankers will be ensured. In the discussion, Principal Secretary, Industrial Policy and Investment Promotion, Shri Sanjay Shukla gave information regarding the proposed logistics hub policy in the state. He told that Madhya Pradesh is situated in the middle of the country. Therefore, if the logistics hub is created here, the whole country will get benefit. He gave information about 14 points of Mandate of Logistics Division.

Principal Secretary Commercial Tax Smt. Deepali Rastogi told about Smart Enforcement Initiative. Warehousing Corporation MD Shri Tarun Pithode informed about the concessions given for the construction of warehousing.

Officials of the Union Ministry of Commerce also participated in the discussion. Shri Pritam Banerjee gave important suggestions in this regard. Additional Chief Secretary Transport and Water Resources Shri S.N. Mishra, Deputy Secretary Urban Development and Housing Shri Tarun Rathi and other officers participated in the discussion.
