Madhya Pradesh CM orders about wildlife development works

Bhopal: Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that in the permissions given for development works in forest areas in the state, care should be taken to ensure that there is no harm to the forests and wildlife of the state by development works. Immediate action should be taken not only against those who commit crimes against wild animals, but also to ensure that they are punished.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that every effort should be made to ensure that the public is not harmed by wild animals. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan was presiding over the meeting of Madhya Pradesh State Wildlife Board in Mantralaya today. Forest Minister Shri Vijay Shah, Chief Secretary Shri Iqbal Singh Bains, Principal Secretary Forests Shri Ashok Varnwal and others were present in the meeting.

Cheetah will come from Africa in November

Forest Minister Shri Vijay Shah said that cheetah will come from Africa in the month of November. The number of crocodiles in the Chambal Sanctuary has increased to 2176 and the number of dolphins to 82. The number of vultures has also increased. Satpura Tiger Reserve and Bhedaghat have been included in the tentative list of World Heritage. Census of tigers will begin in 2022.

Approval for 4 lane route in Ratapani Sanctuary

In the meeting, approval was given to the 4-lane widening work of National Highway-69 at Ratapani Sanctuary. Permission to lay underground pipeline in Damoh-Patera Water Group Supply Scheme at Ratapani Sanctuary, Nimari-Prithipur Water Group Supply Scheme at Orchha Sanctuary and Jabera-Tendukheda Group Water Supply Scheme at Veerangana Durgavati Sanctuary. Laying of optical fibers was also allowed in various areas.

Permission for doubling of Katni-Singrauli railway line with conditions

In the meeting, permission was granted to the doubling and electrification of Katni-Singrauli rail line work in Sanjay Tiger Reserve with conditions. It will be sent to the Government of India with conditions. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that Singrauli is a remote area. The rail line should be doubled here.

Conduct survey of Ghatigaon sanctuary

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that survey of Ghatigaon Sanctuary should be conducted in connection with Sonchiraiya bird. It has been denotified by the Government of India since the year 1994 when Sonchiraiya was not seen in Karera Sanctuary. The Sonchiraiya (Great Indian Breasted) bird is on the verge of extinction in Madhya Pradesh.

Make efforts for protection of wild elephants

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that efforts should be made to ensure that the villagers are not harmed by the wild elephants in the Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve area. For this, a group of experts should be formed, who can study the rescue measures taken in the country and the world and report accordingly.

State-of-the-art facilities for treatment of wild animals in state

Forest Minister Shri Vijay Shah said that Madhya Pradesh has state-of-the-art facilities for the treatment of wild animals. Jabalpur has a well-equipped hospital. Now the latest operation tables and ventilators have also come. Currently two incubators have been approved. An International Wildlife Conservation Conference will also be held soon at Jalabpur.
