Madhya Pradesh CM meets Union Minister Narendra Singh Tomar

Bhopal: Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan met Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Shri Narendra Singh Tomar during his stay in New Delhi today, keeping in mind the interests of the farmers, he urged to issue the revised target as per the proposal of the state to make purchases as per the prescribed provision.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan informed that a target of 34 thousand 20 metric tonnes of moong has been set by the central government for the marketing year 2021-22 and target of one lakh metric tonnes of moong crop has been received from the Price Stabilization Fund. In this way a total target of 1.34 lakh metric tonnes has been achieved. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan informed that 6.56 lakh metric tonnes of summer moong and 0.49 lakh metric tonnes of urad have been produced in the state. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan urged that in order to increase the area of ​​pulses for food security and to provide fair price to the farmers for their produce, it is necessary that the target of procurement of moong should be increased by 5 lakh metric tonnes. Farmers will be dissatisfied due to non-procurement as per the provisions of the scheme

It may be known that 6.84 lakh hectares of summer moong and urad have been registered by 2.41 lakh farmers in the state.

Union Minister Shri Narendra Singh Tomar assured Chief Minister Shri Chouhan that he would take immediate action in this regard.
