Bhopal: On the occasion of the birth anniversary of Sant Singaji Maharaj, Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chauhan garlanded his portrait at his residence today. Singaji was born in a village Khajuri district, Barwani, Madhya Pradesh. Sant Singaji is considered to be of 16th or 17th century period. It is said that Singaji was a poet and a saint.
Singaji’s camps and mausoleums have been built at many places throughout Madhya Pradesh, where fairs are also organized. The spiritual songs of poet-saint Singaji are sung even today. Mundi, a thermal power plant constructed in the Khandwa district, is also named after Sant Singaji.
