London-based Odia tech entrepreneur Arun Kar making Odias around the world proud

Bhubaneswar  : London-based Odia tech entrepreneur ArunKar, the military veteran ,is making the Odias proud by representing Odisha Internationally. Arun and his partners Chintan Panara& Pradip Butani to develop game-changing solutions across industries that creating a more intelligent world for humanity.His Nest Group of companies ,which is designed across five subsidiaries, including Multinational Digital & Technology Innovation companies specializing in Information Technology & Environment Sustainability. What makes Arun’s business success story all the more spectacular is that he started his business in Britain within a few short years of arriving in the country from his native India, where he served seven years in the Indian Army.

With governments relaxing lockdowns restrictions in different Countries, the threat of spread of COVID was also becoming a matter of concern as people were coming out of their houses after month long lockdowns. After the emergence of Covid -19, the World Health Organization (WHO) has issued guidelines to maintain social distance to keep the infection away. Meanwhile, Arun’s company (Xpertnest) developed a National app along with the UK Government, named Beach Check UK App that helps social distancing by showing beachgoers which areas are crowded by giving them real time information. His company is also working with the Law Enforcement agencies to develop Innovative technology solutions to combat crime and make streets safer for the citizens.

Arun has also developed an innovative solution to one of the biggest environmental challenges facing the western world – plastic bags. His Earthnest biobags represent a practical way to stop the pollution of our planet caused by five trillion plastic bags every year. The Earthnest biobags are 100 per cent plastic free and fully biodegradable. There was a great deal of interest in Earthnest’s biobags which wonthe award for Product Innovation of the Year in the National Big Green Sustainability Awards 2021 against intense competition.
The tech-head has bagged the ‘Global Indian of the Year Award 2020-21’ held by international magazine – ASIA ONE and United Research Services(URS) in recognition of his London based multi-national digital innovation company ‘Xpertnest’ which was featured in the CNBC. His company also accolades with many prestigious awards including Guinness World Record ,Most Impactful Company of the Year 2021 in DotCom magazine, Company of the Year for Smart City Solutions in the prestigious CIO Review (2019) ,the finalist at the U.K’s National SME Awards 2020 – Business Innovation Category. In 2019, Arun was honored with the Young Entrepreneur Award for his valuable contributions to the Odia society in London. Arun is also an Offcial member of Forbes Business Council, and featured on International Media like Mobile World Congress, Telegraph, BBC and Smart City Expo.

Arun also played a significant role in establishing the first Shree Jagannatha Temple in the United Kingdom (City of BATH). As well as playing a leading role in ensuring that the much-needed temple project happened. The temple has proved highly popular with up to 400 people each day attending a recent nine-day festival.

Arun hails from a humble family based out in Odisha. The adventure of his life began with an Atlas Gold line Super bicycle and culminated with the possession of multiple Tesla cars and super-luxury cars in the UK. Motivated by the Kargil war of 1999, the young and determined Arun joined the Indian army as an officer in the year 2000 after clearing Combined Defence Services interview (conducted by the UPSC), & Service Selection Board interview. After serving seven years in the Artillery Division of the Indian Army, he opted for early retirement owing to injury & medical concerns. Following his early retirement from the Indian Army, Arun decided to take the entrepreneurial plunge after finishing management studies at the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore.

Speaking about his motivation, ArunKar, Co-Founder of ‘Xpertnest’ said, “The qualities of courage, determination, and leadership imbibed while serving in the Indian Army have given me the confidence to embark on large-scale projects. The confidence I have drawn from the armed forces has also helped me deal with the hurdles of running a business”.

Since starting Xpertnest, Arun has led it in achieving exponential growth. Turnover has increased more than 25-fold from and the Nest group of companies now employs over 100 people in Britain, Europe, the Middle East and India.
