Loka Kabi late Balakrushna Mohanty’s birth anniversary fest begins in Jagatsinghpur

Report by Kahnu Nanda; Jagatsinghpur: A week long Loka Kabi late Balakrushna Mohanty birth anniversary festival was inaugurated by Odia erudite Haraprasad Das at Naba Krushna Choudhury stadium here on Sunday, The Balakrushna Smruti Parishad and Odisha Sahitya Academy are jointly organizing the festival on the eve of late Loka Kabi’s 117 th birth anniversary.
The inaugural function was attended by a battery of Odia poets, literates, critics and research persons those highlighted the basic structure and intent of late Balakrushna Mohanty literary works and discussed his legendary literature creation had been emphasizing the social behaviors and societal reformations through poetry, song drama, fiction and musical play, the late poets age old musical paly and song drama still alive in Odisha’s every corner, the speakers revealed.
Famous Odia play writer Bijaya Mishra and Essayist Surendra Moharana were felicitated with Balakrushna Sanman by the organizers, among others attended the event renowned play writer Kartika Rath, collector Yamini Sarangi, Er Pravakar Swain, Sahity academy additional secretary Rabinarayan Ray. Parishad working chairman Hemanta Rath read the inaugural speech and president Mahendra Acharya chaired the inaugural meeting, later late Balakrushna Mohanty’s famous song drama Amara Bilasa was performed at the stage.
