Bhubaneswar: Life Insurance Corporation of India is hosting the ALL INDIA PUBLIC SECTOR BADMINTON TOURNAMENT for the year 2018-19 on behalf of all the participating Public Sector Institutions and LIC South Central Zone, Hyderabad is organizing the Tournament from 11.07.2019 to 14.07.2019 at Multipurpose hall of Railway Sports Complex, Near Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad.
Reserve Bank of India, Food Corporation of India, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited, Employees State Insurance Corporation, Coal India Limited, Airports Authority of India and LIC of India are participating in the tournament.
The Tournament has been inaugurated today, on 11.07.2019 at 09.30 AM by Ms Kiran Sahdev, Executive Director (HRD/OD), LIC of India, Central Office, Mumbai. Sri Y Venkateswarlu, Regional Manager (HRD) and Organizing Secretary for the Tournament and other senior officials from LIC, Zonal Office, Hyderabad were present in the function.
While inaugurating the tournament, Ms Kiran Sahdev, ED (HRD/OD) has stressed that SPORTS brings everyone together, teaches to stay focused and dedicated regardless of all odds. She remarked that winning is not getting ahead of others but ahead of oneself. She was happy to see the energetic and enthusiastic faces of best badminton players across the country who are all set to perform brilliantly and make the tournament memorable. She informed that LIC is continuing its sports promotional activities in a big way since 1963 when the LIC Sports Promotion Board was constituted. Since then, LIC was recruiting Sports persons under Sports Quota. LICs has many prominent sports persons including Current World Carrom Champion Ms S Apoorva and Arjuna Awardee Ms Gurmeet Kaur (Athlete – Javelin Throw).
Before inauguration of the tournament, Sri Y Venkateswarlu, RM (HRD), LIC, South Central Zone, Hyderabad has welcomed everyone including the players who are participating from different Public Sector institutions and wished every one of them a grand victory. He urged upon every player to excel in their performance and also to be sportive while playing the game. All the sports loving people are requested to witness the tournament and encourage the players.
