Paralakhemundi: A great initiative by WASSON, Hyderabad with collaboration of Odisha Millets Mission supply of nutritional food through millets installed. This will be a great innovation to supply those infants & maternity & lactating care in Anganwadi centres.
As a launching program from 1st January 2018 in interior Chandragiri & Sikulipadar GPs of Mohana block in Gajapati district. On inaugural session Mohana MLA Ms. Basanti Mallick; State Coordinator of WASSON, Dinesh Balam; District Social Welfare Officer Maina Hembram; Asst. Agriculture Officer Bhabendra Murmu; Nagendra Kumar Nandi of SACAL with all ICDS Supervisors & Anganwadi workers attended the program.
From shifting cultivation on medium & upland the farmers will be promoted more raggi, suan and other millets. From raggi processed Ladoo, from suan juice & upma and from Kangu Britain will be supplied to infant children & maternity care mothers in Anganwadi centres as a pilot basis in above panchayats. On future it will be benefitted in other areas. This is major thrust & first of its interventions in Tribal based Gajapati district. This initiative accoladed by District administration and helpful for other Civil Society Organizations like Surakhya, SWWS & CCD in RUdayagiri, Rayagada & Gumma blocks of Gajapati.
