Paradip: Farmers with their family members, including women and children, have begun a dharna under the banner of the United Land Loser Farmers’ Forum in front of the IOCL Paradip refinery since Monday demanding regular employment.
Sources said there are 1,752 land losers of the refinery who are pressing for regular engagement in the plant. However, their demand has so far fallen on the deaf ear of the IOCL authorities.
The agitation is led by forum president Naveen Pradhan, Prakash Tripathy, Sarada Prasad Jena, Paradip Garh Sarapanch Mihir Das and Zilla Parisad member Sushree Priyadarshini.
