South Korea & Odisha business roundtable. An official statement issued by Indian Chamber of Commerce quoting South Korea ambassador Shin Bongkil says Korean steel giant Posco will set up an integrated steel plant in Odisha with an investment of $12 billion.
Th Indian Chamber of Commerce in association with IPICOL, Govt of Odisha organized the Roundtable on Sou th Korea & Odisha: Promoting Bilateral Business Opportunities 19 April 2021 at Bhubaneswar.
Capt. Divya Shankar Mishra, Hon’ble Minister, Industries, Energy,MSME & Home, Government of Odisha briefed that Odisha & Korea breifed that Odisha and kores have many possibilities to collaborate across tbe identified focus sectors of the state. He also said that Odisha is in the process of implementing a strategy document, Vision 2030 which aims to ensure that 50% of the primary metal produced in the State value added with Odisha.
Mr.Shin BongkU, Ambassador of South Korea to India informed tha 66 new Korean Companies has entered Ind ia in last I year. Korean companies have made an investment of US$17 million in 2020 as compared 10 USS 2 1.15 mi llion which is a very good figure keeping in view of the pandemic situation, he told. He also informed that POSCO, the Korean Steel giant has plans 10 make one of the single largestt FDI in the history of India with an investment of USS 12

Dr Young Scaon Park, Director, KOTRA told that the Korean companies arc very eager to work in the areas of Renewable Energy, Water Treatment & Smart City Projects. B2B meetings will be organized in the month of September 2021 for exploring opportunities i n Smart Ciiy Projects.
Dr Nitin B Jawalc, IAS, Special Secretary, Department of Industries & Managing Director, IPICOL Government of Odisha showcased the strength & diversity of Odisha through an AV.He also ela orated on the Vision 2030 of Odisha. He informed that Odisha is expecting an investment of 200000 crores.
