#KargilVijayDiwas: Twitter flooded with tributes to brave Indian soldiers who laid down their lives for nation

Bhubaneswar (Avilash Panigrahi): Kargil Vijay Diwas is celebrated on July 26 every year to celebrate India’s victory in the Kargil war of 1999 against Pakistan.

Twenty years back this was the day when the Indian Army had taken control of posts in the Ladakh region of Jammu and Kashmir, after fighting a tough war for 60 days. This day is celebrated in the Kargil – Dras sector and the national capital New Delhi, where the Prime Minister of India, pays homage to the soldiers at Amar Jawan Jyoti at India Gate every year. Functions are also organized all over the country to commemorate the contribution of the Armed forces.

A quick look through the tweets and social media posts of people on the Internet shows that, after 20 years of the war, people continue to remember the soldiers and their sacrifices.
