Kaakar Lit Fest Concluded in high note

Report by Basant Rath, Nabarangpur: The odiya speaking people of Baster district of Chattisghar State enthusiastically showcased their immense talent in grand odiya literary festival ‘Kaakar’ and expressed their love and respect for Odia language.

Odisha Sahitya akadamy organising every year Kaakar lit fest to
promote Odiya among the people. For the first time intra state event was organised at Chitrakot of Bastar district. The event included extempore, short poem recitation peoples from all walks participated enthusiastically in large numbers.

It is noteworthy that the poets, writers from across the State
participated in the fest. Here on Sunday the two day fest concluded with the colours and fizzy shades of young talent.

The event was inaugurated at Kosagumuda by Sub Collector Bhaskar Raita, by lighting a candle and hoisting a flag. Odisha Sahitya Akadamy member, Booloo Hota presided over the meeting.

Then various discussions held on the stage such as ‘ man gods in
folklore and traditions’, ‘literature and journals of our land’, ‘
tourism and literature :two sides of a coin’, ‘Women glorification in
odia literature’, ‘Geetmara utsav’. In a special way only female
personalities were the participants of the discussion on glorification of woman in Odia literature.

In the evening MLA’s Manohar Randhari, Prakash Chandra Majhi,
Chairperson of Kosagumuda block, and others were spoke on the
occasion. The main theme of discussion was to develop the literature in the district and inspire the poets.

During the event thirteen books were inaugurated namely Rimjhim, the sirimiri of love authored by Dr Manoj Kishore Nayak, Monalisa authored by Er Sushil Kumar Gochhayat , Pratinidhi Hindi Kahaniyan authored by Niharika Mallick, Smruti tume Indradhanu authored by Dharmaraj Majhi and others. Poets recited their creations before the audiences till late night.

On Sunday the lit fest was held at Chitrakote, in Bastar district of
Chattisghar, the birth place of Utkal Bharati Kuntala Kumari Sabat , an eminent cynosure of odia literature. Honourable Minister Padmini Dian, MLA of Chitrokote, Rekchand Jain , Urmila Achary were the eminent guests in the event presided Boolo Hota. Various poets from Odisha and Chhatishgarh gathered impatiently on the bank of Indravati showcasing the excellence of their work in an electric atmosphere of creativity. On the sidelines, it also hosted a series of events, targeting a young audience.

At the end illustrious laureates were felicitated namely Dr Manoj
Kishore Nayak as Utkal Bharati Kabita Samman and Mr Piyush Prakash Behera as Utkal Bharati Sangeet Samman and others.

The festival brings together a diverse mix of the state’s greatest
thinkers, humanitarians, politicians, publishers and entertainers at one stage to champion the freedom to express celebrate the indigenous culture and literature of the very land and engage in thoughtful debate and dialogues. Like every year this time as well Kaakar has been tagged as the most fabulous literary love-fest in the state .
