Juhi Chawla to present a TV series – ‘Sharanam’ in EPIC channel

Mumbai: EPIC channel continues its distinctive infotainment offerings through their latest TV series – ‘Sharanam’. After Virender Sehwag, Sakshi Tanwar, Ranveer Brar and Devdutt Pattanaik, Juhi Chawla joins the club of celebrities jumping on the EPIC bandwagon where she will present the experience of visiting India’s pilgrimage sites, stitching together the stories and experiences of the pilgrims who visit these places devoutly.

The series is voiceover led and Juhi Chawla will be the voice introducing India’s spiritual diversity and heritage like never seen before on television. Her animated and emotive voice is sure to color imaginations and add the extra edge to the breathtaking locales captured on camera.

Commenting on coming onboard EPIC’s latest series Juhi Chawla said “I have done TV before but this is an offbeat project which is new to me. When the concept was narrated to me, I found it very exciting and much needed. India being a diverse country with a variety of faiths co-existing, it is interesting to try and understand what it is in faith that moves and involves them. The show has travelled the length and breadth of the country from Hemis monastery in Ladakh to Velankanni in the South and from Somnath in the West to Kamakhya in the East. It has been shot beautifully and the stories of the people are heart wrenching and uplifting in the same breath.”

As it’s tagline says, it is ‘safar vishwaas ka’ – a journey of faith and it aims at at evoking a sense of spiritual insight through a secular coverage of prominent pilgrimage places in India. Nizamuddin Dargah, Golden Temple, Velankani Church, Murdeshwara, Sarnath among a host of other pilgrim sites will feature in the 26 part TV series scheduled to air in November.
