JSW holds a free eye checkup camp

Report by Kahnu Nanda; JAGATSINGHPUR: As part of its CSR activities, the JSW foundation organized a free eye checkup camp at Dhinkia, Nuagaon and Gadakujanga villages under Erasama block where JSW is proposing to start its steel plant and other industrial projects..
The check-up camp aims to provide medical assistance to people suffering from eye disorders and diseases, mainly reflective errors, cataracts, diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma and age-related macular degeneration.
The camp was held in association with Bhumika eye hospital voluntary institution Vision Spring, the three-day-long camp had placed at Patana primary school in Patana, Anganwadi center of Dhinkia Panchayat, Mahala, and Govindapur villages.
Residents mostly elderly and age-old men and women thronged to the camp for eye checkups, and free treatments were given by the JSW Foundation.
During three day camp, as many as 550 residents had registered names for eye testing in Patana primary school camp and Dhinkia primary health center [PHC] . Similar eye testing camp to be organized in Paradip port town, in addition to Nuagaon villages in coming days, a JSW foundation release informed. [Ends] .
