Angul: A Seven day long National Safety week has been celebrated by Jindal Steel and Power Ltd. (JSPL) Angul with a series of sensitization programmes to promote safety among employees, workers and community members in and around the plant. In the valedictory programme held on March 10, 2018 Mr. Atul Misra, Executive Director (I/C) and Angul Unit Head of JSPL graced the occasion as Chief-Guest. Mr B.P. Singh, GM of JSPL delivered the welcome address.
Solemnizing the Safety Oath, Executive Director (I/C) and Angul Unit Head of JSPL Mr. Atul Misra addressed the employees, worker and contractors and said, “At JSPL, we have adopted the Global Standard Safety Norms with an objective to make JSPL a ‘Zero Harm’ Workplace. Safety has become a culture for JSPL and we hope the awareness programmes organised during this safety week will further strengthen this”.
During the observation of the safety week, JSPL organized various competitions in slogans, posters, and online quiz etc. amongst Employees and Contractors on various themes of Safety. Special theme competitions like Fire-fighting, rescue operations etc, were also conducted amongst the operational Depts. The most exciting thematic competition organised on the occasion was ‘Kaun banega Suraksha Adhipati’ (Who will be the King of Safety).
Other Activities those ignited awareness on safety measures amongst employees, workers , inhabitants in the Company’s Township, local Communities during Safety Week included display of safety messages in the Plant and Labour Colony and distribution of leaflets around the plant throughout the week.
Other Senior functionaries of the Company who were present during the valedictory event were Mr Y.K. Degan, Mr. Damodar Mittal, Mr. Samar Suri, Mr. A.N Tiwari, Mr. Arvind Kumar, Mr. R.K.Gupta, Mr. D. Mohanty, Mr. P.K Pradhan and others.
