Angul : Jindal Steel and Power Ltd. (JSPL), observed National National Fire Service Week at its mega steel plant in Angul. A series of programme aimed at spreading awareness about fire safety was organised by the Company as a part of the celebration.
The Week long observation was flagged–off on 14th April, Saturday, with paying homage to the departed valiant souls, who sacrificed their lives to save others from fire and flames. Led by Mr. D.P. Ghosh, EVP-PPC, Marketing & Logistics; Mr. P.K. Pradhan, DGM-Chief Safety Officer; Mr. David Samantray- AGM Fire Service, various employees and stake holders paid floral tribute to the brave souls and attended a Two minutes Silence Prayer for the fire martyrs.
Expressing the importance of observing National Fire Service Week, Angul Unit Head and Executive Director (I/c) Mr. Atul Misra, said “Safety is an integral part of JSPL’s work culture. All of us should make effort to make JSPL a safest work place”.
The Fire and Safety department of JSPL organised Training programme on Fire Safety at Home and Kitchen, Training programme on Fire Safety for O.P. Jindal School Staffs and Students, etc. along with different competitions like Fire Fighting, Putting on Breathing Apparatus etc. for its stakeholders and employees. And, the winners of different competition will be awarded at the end of the programme.
