Angul: A Seven day long National Safety week has been celebrated by Jindal Steel and Power Ltd. (JSPL) Angul, with a series of sensitization programmes targeted towards employees, workers and community members in and around the plant. Mr. Umakant Samontroy, Asst. Director of Factories & Boilers, Angul graced the valedictory ceremony as Chief-Guest, where Mr. Pankaj Gautam, Chief Operating Officer, and Mr.Suresh Kumar, Executive Director- Maintenance were present as Guest of Honour.
Administering the Safety Oath Mr. Pankaj Gautam, said, “JSPL follows global standard safety norms and thrives to achieve the target of ‘zero accident’. The intensive awareness programmes organised throughout this safety week will further strengthen JSPL’s endeavour to establish safety as a culture at this plant”.
Mr. Suresh Kumar assured the management’s commitment for ensuring health, safety and wellbeing of employees.
Other Senior functionaries of the Company who were present during the valedictory event were Mr. Ravikant Somani, Mr. Yogesh Patel, Mr. Arvind Bhagat, Mr.Atul Dubey, Mr.Gautam Sinha, Mr Narasingham, Mr. Alok Malhotra Mr. Subash Jain, Mr.Ashis Pandey, Mr.B. N.Swain, Mr.Naveen Gautam. Mr.Pradeep Kumar Pradhan and others.
Many competitions were organised during this week long observation and the winners of different competitions like Slogans, Posters, Safety Talk, JSA and Safety quiz etc. were awarded with mementoes and certificates.
Other Activities those ignited awareness on Occupational Health & Safety measures amongst employees, workers, Ladies of Company’s Township, local Communities during Safety Week included display of safety messages in the Plant and Labour Colony, distribution of leaflets around the plant throughout the week.
