Bhubaneswar: Well known film producer & promoter Jitendra Mishra is selected Jury for World’s oldest & largest film festival in its category – 58th Zlin Film Festival, scheduled from May 25 – June 2, 2018 in the city of Zlín, Prague and other towns in the Czech Republic. Mr Mishra will be Jury in the International Competition of Feature Films for Children & youth along with four other Jurors from across the globe. He is travelling to Zlin on 24th this month.
Zlín film festival is the oldest and largest film festival of its kind in the world. This is a significant international event which has an excellent reputation and holds lots of respect. The festival screenings are conducted not only in Zlin, but also in many other towns in the Czech Republic. Each year the festival presents around 300 films from more than 50 countries around the world. Since 2010 festival attendance has exceeded 95,000 children and adults. The festival is organized by Filmfest, s.r.o. and the festival is an active member of the European Children’s Film Association.

Born in Titlagarh, Odisha, Jitendra Mishra is one of the few Indian film producers & promoters who have been able to create a benchmark in ‘Alternative methods of Film Production, Distribution & Promotion at international level. Committed towards meaningful cinema, Jitendra has been associated only with socially relevant films made for children & youth and which are a balance of the right content and creativity. He has already been associated with the production, distribution and promotion of more than 110 films in all categories. Many of them have got worldwide acclamation and recognition. Mr Mishra was in the 71st Cannes Film Festival recently to launch the first look of the film ‘The Last Color’ by Michelin Starrer celebrity chef Vikas Khanna. The teaser of the film was unveiled during the Opening event of Cannes Producers Network on 9th May 2018 in their official venue – ‘Plage des Palmes’ during the Cannes Film Festival. Jitendra has been the Festival Director of one of the most credible & unique film festival: ‘SIFFCY’ (Smile Int’l FF for Children & Youth) for Smile Foundation since its inception. Awarded with the prestigious ‘Son of Odisha’, ‘Youth Icon’, ‘Youth inspiration’ & many other awards, Mr Mishra has been on the Board of director for one of the biggest & oldest media network for children & youth films – CIFEJ. He has been a member of Cannes Producers Network for last many years and invited as Jury to many other leading international film festivals & forums.
