Mumbai: Jio Platforms Limited (JPL) recorded Rs. 3728 crore net profit for the quarter spanning from June-September 2021, recording 23.5% growth than the same quarter in the previous year. Gross revenue for the quarter was Rs. 23.222 crore, witnessing 15.2% growth, driven by continued subscriber traction in connectivity business.
Average Revenue Per User (ARPU) during the quarter increased by 3.7% to Rs. 143.6 per subscriber per month. Total data traffic on Jio network was 23 billion GB during the quarter registering 50.9% growth than the same quarter in previous year. Similarly, voice traffic increased 17.6% to 1.09 trillion minutes. During 2Q FY22, average data and voice consumption per user per month increased to 17.6 GB and 840 minutes, respectively, with significantly higher customer engagement on the network.
Jio 5G field trials have started at various locations with competitive position and capabilities comparable to global Tier1 vendors. Jio and Google are working together to make JioPhone Next available more widely in time for the Diwali festive season, the company said.
