Jio joins devotees at Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath in Puri

Puri: As Puri readies itself to host the Lord Jagannath’s Rath Yatra, one of the biggest annual festivals celebrated in the state of Odisha, Jio is all set to join in the festivities. Each year, lakhs of devotees, tourists from across the world, and pilgrims throng the city to witness what is the world’s oldest chariot procession of their favourite deities Lord Jagannath, Balabhadra, and Subhadra.

This year, Jio is taking Rath Yatra close to Jio users wherever they are with the LIVE telecast on Jio TV app through Jio’s 4G-LTE all-IP high-speed network. Devotees will be able to witness the Rath Yatra on their smartphone devices through a LIVE telecast of the procession on Jio TV, Jio’s catch-up TV app, and celebrate the spirit of the festival.

Rath Yatra is India’s living heritage and people’s love for Lord Jagannath is unparalleled. Jio is excited to be a part of the festivities and we look forward to connecting with the devotees, revelers, and participants in this festival.

There is huge fanfare as all the three richly decorated chariots that are nearly 45 metres tall are pulled by pilgrims and devotees themselves, marking the ultimate in people participation. Jio is connecting an ever growing number of Indians on its advanced 4G-LTE high-speed network, while bringing in the latest apps, devices, and services to ensure a digital life for all of India.

Jio will set up a stall on the Bada Danda stretch, part of the famous 2-km route of the Rath Yatra, to showcase devices such as LYF smartphones and JioFi, the portable Wi-Fi hotspot, as well as facilitate services such as new SIM card activations, recharges, and Mobile Number Portability (MNP). Apart from this, Jio kiosks will be seen along the famous Puri beach.

On this auspicious occasion, Jio has provided raincoats for policemen and fire brigade personnel who will be on duty managing the throng of pilgrims, revelers, travelers, and devotees, throughout the Rath Yatra, as a means of conveying appreciation, support, and thanks to the force.
