Jagatsinghpur flood situation improves after rivers started receding.

Report by Kahnu Nanda; Jagatsinghpur: The flood situation in Jagatsinghpur district improving fast after major rivers flowing across district started receding on Wednesday, but in three Points Rivers Mahanadi and Devi are flowing above danger marks, meanwhile relief and rescue operations have started in different flood affected areas.
According to district emergency department reveals that river Mahanadi is flowing above danger marks in Tarpur and Tartol river gauge stations, moreover River Paika at Sankheswar gauge station was 25.80 feet against its danger mark 22.75 feet. The water level of the Devi River at Daleighai has receded significantly 54.70 feet against the danger mark of 57.00 feet while at Machhagaon River Devi is flowing above danger mark.
As many as 1640 people had evicted from villages due to flood and resided in different cyclone shelters in Tirtol and Kujanga blocks, launching relief operation affected people have given dry food stuffs and free kitchen has started ensuring victims requirement of foods in several shelters. Moreover cattle fodders and medicines have given to animals and bovine in flood affected areas. Medical teams from headquarters hospital have visited flood affected villages monitoring health condition of victims, drinking water is being supplied by tanker in flood affected areas. Collector S K Mohapatra on Wednesday visited different flood affected areas and held discussion with victims for their needs.
