Jagatsinghpur BJD fumes against union Govt reducing SCs/STs stipend

Report by Kahnu Nanda, Jagatsinghpur: The Jagatsinghpur BJD wing has fumed against union government reducing SCs /STs Student’s stipend amount as well as not providing in time. Speaking to media persons at circuit house here on Sunday state SCs/STs cell convener Bishnu Das informed the BJP led NDA government at center has curtailed stipend amount of Dalit students soon after assume power, ironically last two years SCs and STs children have been deprived getting their stipend amount. Nearly 2 Lakh Dalit students studying in colleges, professional courses and higher education have been suffering immensely facing financial paucity.
In spite of Odisha government’s repeated reminders the union government has been responding very little, so protesting the matter we have planned a signature drive among the SCs/STs students across the state would be sent to Hon’ble President of India for attention, Mr Das informed.
Among others district youth BJD president Amarendra Das, district students BJD president Bijaya Shankar Das, BJD Jagatsinghpur block presient Manoj Bhoi , district BJD leaders Minati Das, Dolagovinda Das, Madhusudan Sahoo, Dipti Das and Saroj Biswal were spoke at the press conference and criticized union government not paying SCs/STs students stipend.
