OdishaITFFutures, the first ever international tennis tourney in Odisha, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik felicitated all participants and presented a cash award of ₹50,000 each to the four Odia players – Kabir Hans, Abhishekh Mohapatra, Ritupurna Choudhury and Ameet Kiran Bath- in the event.
After Asian Athletics Championships 2017 and Hockey World League 2017, Odisha has earned a name for itself in the global sporting arena and the commendation of being the ‘sports capital of the country’. In continuation of this, the state government is prepared to host many more of these events, even a Davis Cup tie in near future.
