Berhampur: The International Tea Day (Dec 15) has celebrated in Silk city having “Chai Pe Charcha” with delegation of city dwellers, media friends and intellectual mass. Organising the day Samparka Mass Media has invited hundreds of people getting together at Badakhemundi Street having cup of tea in every hand. The morning tea session has begun with Good Morning Berhampur addressed by Sanat Panda, the CMD of Samparka Mass Media and presided by Narayan Mahankuda, editor of Paryatan Bharat. Chai pe Charcha take a grip with hot discussion by intellectuals including Gourango Choudhury, editor Bibidhh Sambad, Pitabas Panda, General Secretary of Ganjam Bar Council, and Jagan Mohan Mohapatro of Nitidin odia daily. The speakers mark the tea as an instrument of friendship and use it without sugar to avoid Diabetes as a threat to life. Others come with new topics and tagged tea as a symbol of love and compromise in married life of each couple said Munna Jena, a youth leader. Asst. Health Officer of Berhampur Municipal Corporation lead the discussion to keep the city clean and it should start in front of every tea shop. The distribution and continues use of dustbins in tea stalls will make Silk city shinning, he added. Among others local Corporator Lili Kumai Behera, Advocate Madan Mohan Patro, Rajesh Pattnaik, Asutosh Mahapatra, Asit Panda, Prasanta Kumar Das, Sarat Kumar Singh and others participated in discussion with their added contents. The day is specially marked by sand artist Satya Narayan Maharana, presenting a model of sand art of cup and saucer.
