International day of World’s Indigenous people organized at HAL, Suanbeda

Sunabeda: Today the 22nd International day of World’s Indigenous people celebrated at Bhanja Mandap Sunabeda by HAL SC/ST employees and Officers Association.

The said program was to promote and protect the rights of the world’s indigenous population. The program was commenced with the Opening song by the Sunabeda Dance and cultural School students followed with the lightning of Lamp. Welcome was addressed by the President SC/ST Association Sri. Subhas Murmu. As the Chief Guest Shri Ashutosh Mallick GM Engine Division, Guest of Honour Shri N. C Behera DGM Service HAL Koraput Division Special Guest Shri TUshar Ranjan Behera DGM(HR) Koraput Division and Chief Speaker Shri P. B Soren CM (OH-PE) HAL attended the program.

The focus of the program was the upliftment of SC/ST backward class citizen of India following with their development in Education, Job, Forest and other sectors.

The Declaration is considered to be ‘the most comprehensive international instrument on the rights of indigenous peoples. It embodies global consensus on the rights of indigenous peoples and establishes a universal framework of minimum standards for their survival, dignity and well-being. It elaborates on existing human rights standards and fundamental freedoms, as they apply to the specific situation of indigenous peoples.’

The said program was organized under the headship of Sri Murmu and co-ordinate by the members of SC/ST association. More than 500 people gathering was visualized in the program. At last the vote of thanks was delivered by the General Secretary of the Association Shri Shibaji kuanr.
