Katamati: Tata Steel Rural Development Society (TSRDS) organized a friendly knock-out football tournament at Daladiri village ground in Katamati area under Deojhar Panchayat on February 20, 2020. Four teams namely Shivshankar Sporting (Daladiri village), BDD Club (Mahadevnasa village), Har Har Murga Mahadev (Murgabeda village), KLD Star Kuldum (Kuldum village) participated in the tournament which was inaugurated by Mr Rahul Kishore, Head Katamati Operations, Tata Steel along with Mr Tulsidas Ganvir, Unit Head, TSRDS.
During the kick-off of the event, Mr Rahul Kishore, Head Katamati, Tata Steel said, “I congratulate all the participants for showing great enthusiasm in the event. The matches were truly world class and there is some remarkable talent in the youth of this area.”
There were total 3 matches played among 4 teams. Team Murgabeda and Mahadevnasa made it to the finals, which went to penalty shootout after a 0-0 draw. Murgabeda came out victorious after defeating Mahadevnasa by 4-3. Locals were present in large numbers to enjoy the friendly tournament and support their team.
