New Delhi: India rejects Turkish President’s remarks on Jammu and Kashmir; Urges Turkish leadership not to interfere in India’s internal affairs.

India has rejected all references to Jammu and Kashmir, saying it is an integral and inalienable part of India.

Responding to queries on references made by the Turkish President and the Turkey-Pakistan joint declaration, External Affairs Ministry Spokesman of the Raveesh Kumar said that India rejects all such references to Jammu and Kashmir, which is an integral and inalienable part of India. He urged the Turkish leadership to not interfere in India’s internal affairs.

Mr Kumar also asserted that proper understanding of the facts, including the grave threat posed by terrorism emanating from Pakistan to India and the region, should be developed before making any such references.

Earlier, speaking to MPs at a joint session of Pakistan’s Parliament yesterday, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan backed its position on Kashmir.
