In view of rainfall forecast Odisha Govt Advises Farmers To Safeguard Harvested Crops

Bhubaneswar: In view of the rainfall forecast by the IMD Meteorological Centre here for three days from January 8th, the State government has asked the district Collectors to advise farmers and paddy procurement centres to take care of the crops and harvested produce.

The Special Relief Commissioner, Pradeep Jena, has also asked to ensure that the market centres should protect the agriculture commodities.

The cyclonic circulation over Sub Himalayan West Bengal & neighbourhood moved away eastwards. Cold wave conditions prevailed at one or two places over the districts of interior Odisha. Dense fog has occurred at one or two places over the districts of ANGUL, KALAHANDI, KORAPUT, KANDHAMAL & SONEPUR and Shallow to moderate fog have occurred at one or two places over the rest districts of Interior Odisha.

Light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Nuapada, Bolangir, Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Keonjhar & Mayurbhanj and dry weather very likely to prevail over the rest districts of Odisha on January 8th (8.30 am onward), the Met Centre said.

Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Nuapada, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Bolangir, Sonepur, Boudh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj on January 9th
