IIMC extends last date for online application to 15th May due to FANI

Dhenkanal: Last date for submission of online application form for various PG Diploma courses in Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC) has been extended from 12th May to 15th May 2019. The administration of the premier media institute had been receiving requests for extension of last date for submission of application, particularly from Eastern India where communication services were hardly functional due to severe cyclonic storm. Students can apply online at http://iimc.gov.in and download PDF copies of the prospectus there.
IIMC offers as many as seven courses in six campuses across the country. IIMC Dhenkanal stands as one of the most prominent campuses with English and Odia journalism courses to offer. This year the number of seats for Odia and English Journalism has been increased to 25 and 68 respectively for Dhenkanal campus. This was done after the campus was granted with enhanced infrastructure and an increased number of academic staffs to ensure quality education.
Possessing a Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline awarded by a recognized university is mandatory for the application. The applicants born on 1 August 1994 or later are eligible to apply in the general category while those born on 1st August 1989 or later will be allowed to apply for SC/ST/PH category. Similarly applicants born on 1 August 1991 or later can apply for the OBC category.
The fees for entrance examination are 1,500 rupees for each course for general category and 1,000 rupees for OBC / SC/ST/PH/EWS category which the applicants will have to pay while submitting the online application. The entrance test for Malayalam, Marathi, Odia and Urdu Journalism will be held on 25th May while English, Hindi, Radio & TV Journalism, Advertising & PR aspirants will have to appear the entrance on 26 May.
